Important Information & Burn Instructions

Follow these simple steps to ensure you get the very best out of your new Soy Wax Candle & Wax Melts..

What is Soy Wax

Soy is an all natural, vegetable based wax, made from Soy beans. It is a clean burning wax which doesn’t produce any toxins or pollutants, which is beneficial for both your health and the environment as it is less likely to trigger any allergies.

Soy is also a slower burning wax which will mean your candle will be longer lasting, it is also a fantastic fragrance carrier which will fill your room beautifully whilst burning.

Each candle is carefully hand poured in small batches, by myself at home.

Burning your candle

The first burn is very important. Allow your Soy candle to burn fully all the way to the edges of the candle container, this will create a ‘melt pool’, and usually take between 2-3 hours. If this is not carried out, it may produce ‘tunnelling’ which results in the wax burning unevenly and leaving residue at the sides of your container.

Burn your candle for 2 to 3 hours at a time, this will help keep your candle longer lasting and burning evenly. We do not recommend burning for any longer than 4 hours. Always read the candle safety instructions which is on your dust cover, provided with each candle.

Wick trimming is is an extremely important step to ensure your candle will continue to burn evenly, remove any mushrooming of the wick and avoid sooting (black residue). Trimming will also help control the flame size so it doesn’t get too big.

Simply trim your wick after each burn to around 5mm, this will result in a long-lasting candle, with a lovely clean correct sized wick ready for the next burn.

Wick Maintenance
